Allegations Of Animal Abuse Pile Up For Proprietor Of Mobile Pet Salon In San Jose
Rachel Murphy has expressed concern about what happened to his 5-pound dog Toto last weekend. Rachel said that after Toto r was bitten by a dog, the groomer taped his mouth shut. The result? A bloody, distressed dog.
Rachel told the story, "My puppy was in obvious distress. What I thought was a muff turned out to just be tape. Toto r's paws were visibly red and injured, with the toenails cut too close to the paw, which likely provoked his biting reaction."
Wow! My Dog is a mobile pet salon that employed the groomer who was responsible for these actions.
Rachel took Toto straight to the hospital for emergency medical care. He has accused Wow! My Dog of animal abuse, joining numerous others who have made similar allegations. San Mateo initiated an investigation for possible animal abuse.
Rachel described the injuries he observed, stating, "I noticed wounds near the joints, around the neck, and in the genital area. The cuts were so severe that they caused bleeding."
Marianna De las Vegas - a Wow! My Dog client - posted a Yelp comment detailing how his pets had been returned to him unwell or injure. Another customer captured a Snapchat video showing a dog in apparent pain, claiming that a groomer had forcefully inserted a napkin into the dog's ear.
Bad Review
In addition to the damning Yelp reviews, animal abuse fine Wow! My Dog wants customers to be aware of what the groomer told him, as someone they had entrusted with their pets' well-being. Rachel stated, "Juliann informed to me that the use of tape to close the mouth is acceptable and normal. He claims it is preferred to using a mute, which is harmful to dogs. He also stated that he personally applies this method to his own dog."
Gate News contacted Wow! My Dog who answered it but handed it off to a woman, who informed her that she was investigating the allegations. But when Puppy was brought up, she said it was a different entity and ended the call abruptly.
